(Wells, Fargo & Co.) Warm Springs Hotel, W. Redding & Co. (Alameda), tan illustrated ad design on 1864, 3¢ pink entire to Gold Hill, Nevada, blue "J. Bamber Express, S.F., Jul 11" cds and same day "Wells, Fargo & Co., San Francisco" oval date stamp for carriage to Nevada, black company frank at left; small cover tear at top, Very Fine and attractive, ex-Kramer.
Estimate    $500 - 750.

Warm Springs did not have a Wells Fargo office until the 1870's whereas this cover dates from the decade before. Lithographed Wells Fargo envelopes from towns that did not have Wells Fargo offices are highly unusual.
