Confederacy, (South Carolina) Charleston S.C. Oct. 29, 1861, bold double-circle datestamp with "Paid 5" in circle handstamp on yellow cover with Geo. W. Williams & Co. Wholesale Grocer's green cameo corner card to Greensboro N.C., Very Fine, an attractive handstamped Paid advertising cover, ex-Calhoun.
Estimate    $300 - 400.

In 1852, Geo. W. Williams & Company was established as a wholesale grocery house in Charleston, SC. George was appointed by the S.C. State Legislature during the War Between the States to procure food for the soldiers' families and the poor of Charleston.
