(Maritime) The Mexican Ocean Mail & Inland Company, blue illustrated oval cameo showing rigged steam ship endorsed "Frelands Opinion & Co" and "Remnants of Chs Letter in Regard to Gail & C.", Very Fine and rare cameo with only four examples recorded.

Mexican Ocean Mail & Inland Company was formed by two Americans Edward H. Carmick and Albert C. Ramsey to carry U.S. mails from New Orleans to San Francisco using the land route across Mexico (Vera Cruz to Acapulco). A provisional mail contract was awarded on February 15, 1853, which was eventually voided by Postmaster General Campbell.
