Full to mostly large margins, beautiful bright color and sharp impression, tied by light numeral "15" barred oval, matching indistinct Nelson (2.17.1860) origin backstamp on blue folded cover to Wellington, clear Wellington (2.20) arrival cds. This letter sailed by the "Lochnagar", a private ship from Auckland direct to the United Kingdom via Cape Horn. This is the latest recorded use of a private ship carrying mail from New Zealand.
