Brazil, 1843, First Issue ("Bull's Eye"), 60r black, worn impression, ample to mostly large margins, tied by brown "S. Joao. Del Rei" straightline postmark on the front of 1844 folded letter to Rio de Janeiro; some minor ink erosion at end of postmark and cover hole repair above, F.-V.F.; signed Pfenninger with 1969 attest.
