Philippines, Revenue, Provisional, 1899 5c Movil Especial, "U.S. Internal Revenue" handstamp, horizontal strip of five, type B, tied by blue "Guards will admit" handstamp on partial bill of lading dated "Manila, 27 de Julio de 1899"; some toning at upper right affecting right pair, F.-V.F., a very scarce multiple (Warren 503), ex-Dr. Perry.

Philippines, Revenue, 1899, 10c red brown, horizontal bisect in vertical strip of three, in combination with manuscript canceled 1899, 1p Sello, vertical pair, strip tied by blue boxed "Cancelled" cancel, on Dec 20, 1899 custom clearance document permitting departure of British ship "S.S. Hanchang", signed by collector of customs George R. Colton, Captain of the port W. Bauggartner and Ira Randall of Co. M. 20th Infantry, the guard aboard the ship who came ashore at noon when the ship sailed; slight corner scorching from fire in Arnold Warren's home, otherwise Very Fine, this being The Only Known Usage of a Horizontal Half of the 1899 10c Eagle Revenue Issue (Warren 514b, 514a, 366aA), ex-Dr. Perry.
Estimate    $2,000 - 3,000.

The 1899 10c Eagle issue is known used in a horizontal strip with a vertical bisect. This horizontal bisect usage is quite remarkable.

Philippines, Revenue, 1899, 10c red brown, vertical bisect in horizontal strip of three, tied by blue straight line "Guards will admit" handstamp on Vapor "Montanes" bill of lading from Manila to Laoang (province of Northern Samar), with red illustrated full rigged ship at top, signed "J.D. Miley, MP", Very Fine, a scarce bisect usage (Warren 515a).
Estimate    $300 - 400.
