1870, 24¢ purple, used with 2¢ brown (157) and 30¢ gray black (165), tied by strikes of circle of wedges cancels on cover to Ahmednagar, India at double the 28¢ British Mail rate via Brindisi, red Boston foreign mail cds and red crayon "48 / 2" credit to G.B., red "London Paid" transit cds and matching "2d" colonial credit handstamp, reverse with Sea Post Office and Ahmednagar arrival cds, slight repair at top left edge of cover, Very Fine, an attractive Bissell correspondence use to India bearing a three-color franking prepaying double the 28¢ British mail rate via Brindisi; with 1985 P.F. certificate.
