Ecuador, 1865, 1r green, balance of 13 items; includes bisect on piece tied by black "P.I." within stars of Quito on piece, three other bisect usages on piece from Cuenca, 3 mute grid cancels used on first and second period printings, 1866 Guano first type circular date stamp and matching dotted lozenge cancels, neat Ibarra first type circular date stamp cancel, 3 dotted lozenge cancels of different thickness and "Pelileo, M.C." circular cancel, F.-V.F. overall.

ONE OF FIVE KNOWN COVERS BEARING SAME DENOMINATION OF THE 1865 1 REAL STAMPS IN GREEN AND YELLOW - AND AN UNIQUE FRANKING BEARING TWO 1R GREEN AND ONE 1R YELLOW ISSUES.

Only five covers are known bearing same denomination 1 real represented by the different stamps in the issued colors green and yellow.

Ecuador, 1865, 1r green, block of eight and vertical pair, block positions 22-25/31-34 and pair 26/35, margins large to just touching, all tied by "Cuenca, 13 Dec, 65" cds's and matching dotted lozenge handstamps on Judicial wrapper to Loja, pencil "1L 4oz" weight notation at upper right; cover flaws including tear at left and reinforced file fold, some tone spots affecting stamps, F.-V.F., ex-Bustamante and Goeggel; with 2014 Moorhouse certificate.

Ecuador, 1865, 1r green, vertical strips of three and four, positions 24/33/42 (middle stamp broken frameline at right variety) and 51/60/69/78, margins large to just in, canceled by "Latacunga" provisional box cancels on oversized Judicial wrapper to Riobamba, red crayon "14 oz" weight notation, Very Fine and choice, this Latacunga pre-adhesive postmark was used during the first half of 1865, fewer than ten recorded usages of this provisional handstamp used as a cancelling device.

Ecuador, 1865, 1r yellowish green, horizontal strip of nine, 1st printing, positions 73//81, ample to large margins, in combination with 1865, ½r blue on Judicial wrapper front and part backflap to Latacunga, all tied by "Riobamba, 18 Nov, 65" cds's (month inverted), manuscript "19oz" weight endorsement at upper right; file fold affecting one stamp in strip, still Very Fine, the largest on cover multiple of the 1r green, of which there are seven such usages recorded.
