Airmail, 1937, 50¢ China Clipper, wide margin top margin plate no. "21624" block of six, o.g., never hinged, exceptional overall centering, brilliant color, Extremely Fine; with 2019 P.S.E. certificate Graded (XF 90).

AN EXTREMELY RARE MINT NEVER HINGED EXAMPLE OF THE 50¢ CLIPPER ISSUE IN THE WIDE TOP PLATE BLOCK FORMAT.

This wide margin plate block is one of the rarest airmail issue plate blocks with only a handful known. Scott catalog notes for this issue - "wide full selvage top margin plate blocks of No. C22 are extremely scarce and sell for $3,00.00 or more" (versus $85.00 price for regular plate block).
