Danish West Indies, 1875 (Dec. 1) London, England to St. Croix, D.W.I., gray folded letter from the Heyliger correspondence bearing G.B. 6d gray (62) horizontal pair, tied by two strikes of "London, DE 1, 75" duplex, D.W.I. blue crayon "4" due rating, Frederikssted (12.17) arrival backstamp; horizontal fold wear, F.-V.F.

Danish West Indies, 1880 (Feb. 18) Copenhagen, Denmark to St. Croix, D.W.I., docketed folded cover from the Heyliger correspondence with purple "Moses & Sön G. Melchior, Kjöbenhavn" corner card handstamp bearing Denmark 5ö rose & bluish gray (27), two singles, and 20ö rose & gray (31), all tied by "86" three-ring cancels, endorsed "via Southampton", reverse with St. Thomas (3.5) transit and Christiansted (3.6) arrival cds, Very Fine and scarce transitional UPU use.

Danish West Indies, 1885 (May) Wyoming Terr. to St. Thomas, D.W.I., 2¢ entire uprated with 3¢ green (184), tied by indistinct Wyoming duplex, reverse with New York (5.23) transit and St. Thomas (6.5) arrival cds, unframed "Inconnu-A / St Thomas" two-line and "Retour" framed handstamps, Very Fine and scarce markings.

Danish West Indies, 1895 (Dec. 25) St. Thomas, D.W.I. to London, England via "United States Despatch Agent, B.F. Stevens", cover bearing 10¢ blue & brown (10), faulty, tied by four-ring cancel, "St. Thomas, 25/12 1894" cds backstamp on cover to U.S.S. Detroit care of B.F. Stevens, London, England, Jan. 10th arrival backstamp and purple "United States Despatch Agent, B.F. Stevens, 11 Jan 95" forwarder's double-oval, "C" handstamp on reverse indicates Christiansted origin, Fine and only recorded B.F. Stevens use from Danish West Indies.

Danish West Indies, 1902 (Apr. 30) St. Thomas, D.W.I. to Montpelier Vt., cover with blind embossed "Kongeliege Postkontor, St. Thomas" flap and endorsed "Service", entered mails with bold "St. Thomas, 30/4, 1902" cds and bluish-purple "Dansk Vestindien, R" framed registry handstamp, reverse with New York (5.8) oval and Montpelier (5.9) arrival cds, letter is a reply to an inquiry concerning a stamp purchase, but unfortunately the stamps were not available and money order was returned previously, Very Fine and scarce official post office use.
Estimate    $200 - 300.

Danish West Indies, 1840-1871 Danish West Indies Postal History, group of 12 covers, mostly stampless including 1840 St. Thomas to London with red framed "Packet Letter" handstamp; 1871 St. Thomas to Jamaica with red "Lamp & Co., St. Thomas W.I." oval; 1848 St. Thomas to New York with red "Forwarded by Whitmore & Co., St. Thomas" oval; 1876 St. Thomas cover front to Germany with G.B. 1s and 1½d for 1s1½d rate, "Foreign Letter Office, St. Thomas" oval used on reverse of cover to Bassin, St. Croix; and 1857 Frederiksted to Denmark, etc., F.-V.F. and useful group.
