Philippines, Free Philippines Guerrilla Postal Service, 1943, 2c blue, tied by purple "Posted in the Free Philippines, Mindanao Guerilla Area, 16 Aug, 1944" oval date stamp on 2¢ red entire (U41) from Col. Wendell Fertig to Lt. Col. S.J. Wilson "In the Field", matching censor handstamp at lower left, Very Fine, rare with only 500 stamps issued and 36 covers recorded.
Estimate    $500 - 750.

Col. Wendell Fertig was an engineer who organized and led the guerrilla war against the Japanese on Mindanao in World War 2.
