New Zealand, 1867, Queen Victoria "Chalon Head", 3d lilac, perf 12½, horizontal pair, Large Star watermark, used with 1867, 3d deep mauve, two singles (118), all tied by numeral "21" vertical barred ovals, matching "Invercargill, JA 20, 68" cds on blue cover to Salzdetfurt, endorsed "Via Suez" at top left, red crayon "6d" credit rating, red London Paid (3.30) transit cds and "PD" in circle handstamp, blue "Aus England par Aachen, Franco" transit cds also ties stamps, Salzdefurt (4.1) arrival backstamp, forwarded to Wallensen, indistinct arrival backstamp; repaired cover tear, Very Fine and rare shade combo use, Antipodes, Corinphila (September 1988, lot 3587), John Woolfe, Spink (October 2006, lot 230), Joseph Hackmey, Spink Shreves (May 2010, lot 2393); with 1988 Holcombe and 2006 R.P.S.L. certificates.
