Prehn & Co., New Orleans" oval forwarders handstamp on front and reverse with second strike and "Received 28 May, forwarded 30 " " notation, entered mails with 10¢ green, type II (32) horizontal strip of three, perfs scissor separations with bottom perfs intact and top perfs trimmed, tied by light strike of "New Orleans, La." cds, carried as endorsed by N.O. and Vera Cruz Line Tennessee from New Orleans to Vera Cruz, Mexican "12" reales due handstamp; left stamp abrasion, Fine and interesting use, ex-Schimmer.

(Gulf Coast) 1858 (Dec. 21) Veracruz, Mexico to Bordeaux, France via New Orleans and New York, folded letter with Veracruz (12.21) origin backstamp, "New Orleans La. Dec 26 1858" cds and matching "Steamship" circular handstamp, New York partial red (1.5) exchange backstamp and circled "10" debit handstamp to France, carried by Cunard Line Asia from New York Jan. 5th to Liverpool arriving Jan. 16th, French (1.17) entry cds with manuscript "12" décimes due rating, Paris (1.18) and Bordeaux (1.19) backstamps, Very Fine, French treaty mails from Mexico via the U.S. are uncommon, ex-Winter.

Letter carried from Veracruz to New Orleans by mail steamship "Tennessee", a temporary mail steamer owned by Charles Morgan.

Prehn & Co., New Orleans" forwarder's double-oval and endorsed per "Tennessee" at top left, entered mails bearing 10¢ green (35) horizontal pair tied by "New Orleans La. Nov 15, 1859" cds, carried by New Orleans & Vera Cruz Line Tennessee into Vera Cruz, partial strike of Mexican reales due handstamp for inland postage, clean and Very Fine; with 2007 P.F. certificate.
