Wells Fargo & Co./Coloma. Two 1853-55 3¢ Nesbitt entires addressed to "Hon. J. W. Denver" in Sacramento, Cal. with black oval Wells, Fargo & Co./Coloma handstamp with Old German type script (Leutz. 3-1), both with original enclosure included written by A. St. Clair Denver with political contents, the 1st letter dated "Coloma Nov. 18, 1860" states, "Dear Will, I have just returned from Placerville. The general impression there among our friends is that Hunter will support you. Now my own opinion is that Conness (John) and all of the old Broderick element from this county will try to unite on Randolph…Conness I believe is figuring for Governor next fall.", the 2nd letter is datelined "Coloma Nov. 23, 1860" and reads, "Dear Will, Why the devil don't you write to me. I do not know where you are, what you are doing or expect to do. Conness wants to run for Governor next fall-at least I am satisfied of it from what his friends say. So you see what is up, in that quarter. If you can get along without him let him go to the devil-if not make the most you can of him.", 1st envelope with two flap tears which extends onto front affecting frank, Very Fine.
