Confederacy, 7-Star Flag. Franked by 1861, 5¢ green, two manuscript cancelled singles on patriotic (Dietz type F7-10) cover with military address to Yorktown, Va. with manuscript postmark of "Flat Pond, Ga.", fascinating original enclosure included with contents which mentions the Battle of Gettysburg, "one of the bloodiest Battles of the War", Everyone is depressed & low as expected, many are of the opinion that Lee has been whipped. If that is the case, & Vicksburg is no longer ours, I think we might as well give up, the Yankee Army is so much larger than ours, I am afraid they will over power us., plus much more, cover repaired with part of flag design replaced, attractive Very Fine appearance, a marvelous item.
