1918-1930 Airmail & Flight Covers

1926 CAM 2 "Test" Flight, St. Louis to Chicago. Airmail cover with typewritten endorsement and franked with 1926, 10¢ Airmail, with signature "C.A. Lindbergh, Pilot" and "Wm. H. Conkling, Postmaster", Extremely Fine, a rare Charles Lindbergh signed cover and one of the first covers to have been flown by Lindbergh.
Estimate    $750 - 1,000.

Five days before the inaugural date, Lindbergh and Philip R. Love flew CAM 2 in two DH-4's. Raymond V. Bahr, a friend of Lindbergh's, prepared a small number of souvenir covers which where carried by Lindbergh from Springfield, Ill. to Chicago. The covers have no postal markings. Although unofficial, they are the first covers to have flown by Lindbergh.
