Iraq, Undelivered Through Capitulation at KUT. Violet 2-line handstamp on 1915 postcard from England with 1d scarlet used from Southend to a private in the East Surrey Regiment attached to 2nd Norfolks, the British 6th Division advanced towards Bagdad but suffered high casualties at the battle of Ctesiphon and were besieged at Kut, which surrendered on April 29, 1916, Very Fine, an extremely scarce marking. Estimate $300 - 400.
