This cover, dated January 4, 1926, is among the earliest examples known of the Zanzibar postage dues. The precise date for the introduction of these stamps is not known. However, the fact that January 4, 1926 was a Monday, suggests that this cover may represent a "first day of use" of the postage due stamps.
