1849 New York, N.Y. To Cognac, France. Folded letter with paid to Boston at bottom left, with absence any U.S. postal markings, this was probably hand carried to Boston and placed in ships bag, manuscript "19" decimes due the addressee in France (10 decimes owed G.B., plus 9 decimes French internal), Very Fine, the restored rate period with only three west bound sailings during this period.
Estimate    $200 - 300.

Sent via Cunard Line - per steamer America, departing Boston on January 24th and arriving at Liverpool on February 4th.
