1853 New Orleans, La. To Paris, France. Folded letter with partial red "New Orleans, La., Apr 4" cds and matching "Paid 5" handstamp for rate per half ounce via British Open Mail, straight line "British Packet" handstamp (known used Aug-1852 - Apr-1853), Very Fine, the "British Packet" handstamp was probably applied in Boston with significance unknown. Carried via Cunard Line - Steamer Niagara, departing Boston on April 13th and arriving at Liverpool on April 25th.
