(1672-94) London Elephant Halfpenny. Thick planchet. PCGS graded EF-45 Brown. The London Elephant tokens were produced at the Tower Mint in London around 1694, and it is doubtful that they circulated to any extent in the Colonies. (PCGS Pop. 16 in EF-45 BN, only 79 graded higher, the highest grade being five MS-64 examples. Total of 176 in all grades, 9/27/11).Estimate $750 - 1,000.
