1866-S $5 Liberty. With motto. PCGS graded EF-40. Both 1866-S issues (With Motto and No Motto) are extremely rare in the higher circulated grades and all but unknown in Mint State. The surviving population is estimated at less than 100 examples. Mintage 34,920 (PCGS Pop. 10 in EF-40, only 17 graded higher, the highest grade being three AU-58 examples, the next highest being a single AU-53. Total of 56 in all grades, 9/24/11).Estimate $1,000 - 1,500.
