[Congress] John Randolph, 1806 folded letter with "free, John Randolph" to Philadelphia Pa., "Georgt Mar 21" cds with matching "Free" rating handstamp; edge tear at top, otherwise Very Fine.
Estimate    $300 - 400.

Wildly eccentric in both speech and behavior, Randolph was successively a member of the House of Representatives and a Senator from Virginia. For a short time before his death he was Minister to Russia. He never developed physically as a man. It is said that when he spoke in Congress his high pitched voice rang through the chamber like the sound of an angry vixen.
