1919, 1¢ gray green Offset, perf 12½, bottom plate number "10036" block of 10 with two ghost plate numbers, nicely centered, bright and fresh, o.g., couple small hinge remnants, Very Fine. Scott No. 536 $330.
Ghost printed plate numbers were picked up from the rubber printing blanket. The offset presses used zinc plates and the process used a system of transferring an image to a rubber blanket and then to the printing surface.
