Confederacy, Charleston, S.C., 1861, 5¢ blue, four even margins showing part of outer framelines on three sides, top frame showing printing defect, tiny unnoticeable tear at top, tied by "Due 10" rating handstamp (type E) on cover with soldier's endorsement "D. E. Gordon, Company F, 9th Regt S.C.V." at top left and addressed to Kingston S.C., the provisional stamp was not accepted and the cover was rated 10¢ due for over 500 miles; minor overall cover toning, a Very Fine use. Scott No. 16X1 Estimate $1,000 - 1,500.
