The Kilauea Sugar Co. oval postmark, 41mm x 26mm, is listed by Davies as #217. It is the earliest recorded postal marking from the Kilauea post office with a cds introduced in 1882 (eku August 1882). Both recorded strikes are dated May 4, 1882 on UX3 postal cards, one sent to Wales and the other offered here to England. There are two off-cover strikes recorded as well as another off-cover strike erroneously reported as "Kilauea Plantation" from a partial off-cover 2¢ brown Kalakaua stamp, see Burt, Western Express, December 1999, p. 40.
