(Plantation) Ookala Plantation, Hawaii, Sep 24, 1880, mostly complete blue oval date stamp (216, 1RRRR) tying 1875, 2¢ brown on piece, additionally tied by target handstamp, trivial light toning, otherwise Very Fine, another example in black is recorded with a November 23, 1883 date. Located at Ookala. The Ookala Post Office was located at the Ookala Plantation office. Whether this mark is a postmark or a private plantation mark is open to debate, but it appears to have been used as a postmark before the Ookala office was opened.
