Stmr. Kilauea Hou, Hawaiian Mail Service, Oct 18, 1887, bold sharp blue cds (Davey 366, Rarity 1RRRR) on target canceled 1882, 2¢ rose entire to Honolulu, "Honolulu, H.I., Oct 19, 1887" receiving cds; entire slightly reduced at left, Very Fine.

AN EXTREMELY RARE EXAMPLE OF THE WILDER'S STEAMSHIP COMPANY DATE STAMP FROM THE INTERISLAND STEAMER KILAUEA.

An 806 ton wooden hull screw steamer built by Tibbetts and Sorenson at Honolulu in 1878. She continued in the interisland trade until past 1900. Until 1885, she was operated by Capt. Hobron for runs between Honolulu and Kahului. She was transferred to Wilder's Steamship Company in 1885.
