1838 (June 18) London May 26th - New York, "Sirius" Final Voyage, cover from Birmingham to New York and forwarded to Philadelphia, endorsed "pr. Steam Ship Sirius", with red "New - York, Jun 19" cds and manuscript "6" inland rate, refolded at bottom to show "Recd. pr Steam Ship Sirius June 19th" docketing, Very Fine.
Estimate    $400 - 600.

Sirius made only two round trip transatlantic sailings for the British and American Steam Navigation Company. The company chartered the Irish Sea steamer from the St. George Steam Packet Company in order to beat the "Great Western" for the first transatlantic steamship voyage.
