New York, N.Y., U.S. City Despatch Post, 1842-45, 3¢ Black on Blue, Three Singles, all tied together by red "U.S." in octagon handstamps on cover front to Ridgefield, Conn., red "New - York, Jun 13" cds and matching arched "Paid" handstamp with blue manuscript "10" rate, with stamps apparently accepted as payment of rate with additional 1¢ paid in cash; middle stamp with scissor separation cut in top left margin and trivial tiny enamel chipping, F.-V.F., ex-Caspary, Middendorf, Kapiloff and Kuphal; with photocopy of 1991 P.F. certificate.
