Special Delivery, 1902, 10¢ Ultramarine - Plate Number Items, exhibit page of three plate items comprising bottom plate number 1774 and type imprint block of 8 with stamps appearing n.h., light toning, bottom plate number 5244 and type VII imprint strip of three and bottom plate number 5244-09 and type VII imprint strip of three, F.-V.F. Scott No. E6 $6,475.
The 1902 issue went back to press from new plate after the withdrawal of the Merry Widow stamp. Plates 5240, 5243, 5244 and 5245 were used with a Bureau type VII imprint for the reissue. A writer-critic complained in the philatelic press that the re-issue could not be distinguished. The Bureau then added "-09" to the four plate numbers used to print this issue.
