Governor of P.E.I. and from 1837 of New Brunswick), light strike of rimless "Prince Edwards Island" postmark with manuscript "27th June '37" dating and "8" rating, updated to "1N4" for double weight letter to Halifax, "Halifax N.S. JY 5 1837" transit cds, additional "1N10½" rating to Fredericton totalled to "3N2½" for 3 shillings 2½ pence due; receipt docketing at right, Very Fine, ex-Salmon. Estimate $300 - 400.
The round Prince Edwards Island despatch mark was used from July 11th 1834 to August 31st 1842. This Halifax cds is known used from November 20th 1830 to July 21st 1838.
