1870, 24¢ purple, used with 2¢ brown (157) and 30¢ gray black (165), tied by strikes of circle of wedges cancels on light buff cover to India at double the 28¢ British Mail rate via Brindisi, red "Boston, Paid, Dec 9" foreign mail cds and red crayon "48 / 2" credit to G.B., carried by Cunard Line Hecla from Boston Dec. 12th to Queenstown arriving Dec. 22nd, red London Paid (12.23) transit cds and matching "2d" colonial credit handstamp, then by P&O Line Malta from Brindisi Dec. 28th to Alexandria arriving Jan. 1st, overland to Suez where P&O Sumatra departed Jan. 2nd to Bombay arriving Jan. 15th, reverse with Sea Post Office and Ahmednagar (1.16) arrival cds, Very Fine.
