1839 (Feb. 19) Philadelphia Pa. to London, England, datelined folded cover with blue "Philadelphia Pa., Feb 23" cds and matching boxed "Paid" with black ms. "75" due rating as prepayment of double inland rate to New York plus double the 25¢ freight money fee for two sheets, red "New York Feb 25" cds, carried as endorsed by pioneer steamship Great Western from New York Feb. 25th to Bristol arriving Mar. 12th, black boxed "Bristol/Ship Letter" and ms. "4/9" due for three sheets: triple 8d ship plus triple 11d inland to London, a Very Fine freight money letter carried by the Pioneer Steamship "Great Western"., ex-Arthur White.
Estimate    $200 - 300.

Philadelphia collected the freight-money fee and forwarded it to the New York postmaster, who paid the steamship company. This was Great Western's sixth return voyage.
