1855 (Apr. 5) London, England to Boston, Mass., blue folded letter with red London Paid (4.5) cds with red manuscript "4/-" prepaid rating for quadruple rate, Liverpool (4.6) transit and red "84/Cents" credit rating to U.S., carried by Collins Line Nashville from Liverpool Apr. 7th to New York arriving Apr. 22nd, red "Boston Paid Am. Pkt. Apr 23" exchange cds, F.-V.F., This is the only westbound voyage of the "Nashville" for the Collins Line, which was chartered for one round voyage to replace the Pacific., ex-Winter.
Estimate    $150 - 200.

Liverpool used a 4x21¢ = 84¢ handstamp to indicate credit to the United States. Very few examples of this marking have been recorded.
