Stephens to San Francisco arriving May 1st, San Francisco "PAID" handstamp, F.-V.F., Transatlantic late-fee covers are uncommon; from Scotland they are rare. Estimate $200 - 300.
The sender paid the "1/2½" (29¢) treaty rate to San Francisco, along with a 1d late fee paid by the 1d rose-red for acceptance in Glasgow after the normal mails had closed.
