Confederacy, Johnsons Island, Sandusky, Oh., circa 1864 orange buff Prisoner cover bearing U.S. 3¢ rose (65) tied by "Sandusky O, Jul" duplex to Mrs. Lou. L. Clark at Atlataville Miss., endorsed "T. A. Pope, Capt. & Pris. of War, 29th Miss. Infantry" at top right and "Per Flag of Truce via Fortress Monroe" at bottom left, entered Southern mails with "Richmond Va. Jul 30" cds and matching "Due 10" rating handstamp, Very Fine.
Estimate    $300 - 400.

Johnson's Island housed mostly CSA officers.
