Panama, Colombia 1881, Registration, 10c Red on Orange, with manuscript "1901", used with Colombia 1883, 10c orange, faults, tied by blue "Panama" oval handstamp on cover to Callao, Peru, two Callao (10.20.83) backstamps with matching "Certificado" handstamp and manuscript "3122" on front; cover tear and edge faults, Fine and rare.

AN EARLY USE OF THE COLOMBIAN F8 REGISTRY STAMP FROM PANAMA, THE ONLY RECORDED EXAMPLE TO PERU.

In 1883, Colombia issued a new registration stamp that was used in Panama until 1888. Domestic registration was not widely used and very few non-philatelic usages have survived. Less than 2,000 registry letters were mailed at Panama during 1883, and manuscript numbers were used.
