Mexico, 1867, Gothic "Mexico", 8r black on red brown, margins ample to touching, strong color and quite fresh, F.-V.F. and attractive, this being one of three recorded unused examples of the 8r black on red brown Gothic issue; with 2004 M.E.P.S.I. certificate. Scott No. 40 $3,500.
During the Provisional period no 8 reales stamps were printed and the few leftovers from 1861 were quickly used up accounting for the rarity of unused.
