1861, 10¢ green, deep dark color, in combination with Danish West Indies 1866, 3¢ rose (Scott 2) on folded letter datelined "Kingston, Jamaica, 9 Nov 1866" to New York, 3¢ tied by target handstamp with matching "St. Thomas, 21 11, 1866" cds alongside, two strikes of "J.G. Douglas, St. Thomas W.I." forwarder handstamp and "N. York Steamship" circular handstamp applied upon arrival tying both stamps; cover with small expert repair and one panel silked, Very Fine and choice appearance, ex-Knapp; with 2011 P.F. certificate.

AN ATTRACTIVE AND RARE DANISH WEST INDIES AND UNITED STATES MIXED FRANKING USAGE.

This cover was carried privately from Jamaica to St. Thomas and then placed on the first sailing of the USBMSC "Guiding Star" which arrived in New York on November 26th.
