Mountain City K.T., 2nd Feb, manuscript postmark just tying 1857, 3¢ dull red on cover to Berlin, Vt., stamp additionally pen cancelled; stamp with corner nick and cover edge wear and reduction at left, Fine, a very scarce example of this pre-territorial postmark. Scott No. 26 Estimate $500 - 750.
This mining camp was established in Gregory Diggings in 1859. The post office opened January 17, 1860.
