Ty., Jul 27, sharp strike of red cds and matching target cancel ties 3¢ green (147) on lovely printed Thatcher Bros. corner card cover with preprinted address to Thatcher Bros. & Co. at Trinidad, Colorado, with original 1870 letterhead enclosure that mentioned receipt of gold dust "…Gold Dust matter to hand. I have now sent gold to Denver & when proceeds are reported from there we will credit your account…"; some minor edge staining and reduced slightly at right, a Very Fine strike of this postmark, ex-Bauer.
