Hawaii, "Aloha Nui" Picture Post Card Correspondence, group of 19 different cards out of 24 originally mailed from the same correspondence, each bearing 2¢ brown (75) tied by "Honolulu H.I., Oct 25, 1898" duplex to San Francisco Cal., designs as numbered by sender comprise I. "Honolulu Harbor" (close view of ships and harbor), II. Beach at Hilo, Hawaii", IV. "Hawaiian Grasshut", V. "Native Flowergirls", VI. "Coconut Island, Hilo, Hawaii", VII. "Diamond Head", VIII. "Active Crater of Haemaumau 1893", IX. "Rainbow Falls, Hilo, Hawaii", X. "Honolulu Harbor" (showing fisherman on beach with harbor in distance), XI. "Palace and Birdseye view of Honolulu", XII. "Royal Group", XIII. "Native Grasshut", XIV. "Royal Luau", XV. "Wailuku, Maui", XVI. "Native making Poi", XVII. "Roasting pig underground", XVIII. "Pineapple Plantation, Pearl City", XX. "Volcano House, Hawaii", and XXIV. "Government Building and Statue of Kamehameha I", messages are sequential beginning, "Waikiki, 10/23/98, My Dearest, I shall mail my letter finished or unfinished it is too hot to write long letter. Will write to you in sections on postals which are intended for your collection", mentions "…He introduced him to me Prince David of the royal family who celebrated the Princesses birthday & I was invited to dinner I refused but the Prince insisted that I drink a few glasses of champagne…", on the Volcano House card he writes "…I'll not go to the Volcano, Im too lazy & besides the fire is out…", etc.; some wear and small faults, Very Fine.
