New Zealand, 1864, Queen Victoria "Chalon Head", 1d carmine, perf 12½, Large Star watermark, tied by barred "O5" in oval handstamps on the July 27, 1867 edition of "The Illustrated New Zealander" Dunedin newspaper from Waikouaiti, Otago to Gainford, England, carried on the RMSP Co. Rakaia leaving Wellington on August 8th with mail arriving at Southampton on September 27th, newspaper with contents including an articles on "Wild Bull Hunting in Australia", "Bishop Selwyn's Fairwell Address at Auckland" and illustrations of Bishop Harper, Otago Benevolent Institute and the Custom House, Dunedin; small portion of newspaper front missing and soiling slightly affecting stamp, F.-V.F., ex-Woolfe, Hackmey and Benvie; with 2006 R.P.S.L. and 2014 Odenweller certificates. The 14th voyage was the last by the RMSP Co. to Southampton. Thereafter, Plymouth was used as it speeded up the mail landing.
