"Table Rock N.T. Dec 31", manuscript postmark with matching "3" canceling 3¢ red (U10) buff Nesbitt entire to Pleasant Mount Pa., Very Fine, Only seven Table Rock covers are recorded. Estimate $200 - 300.
200 families established homes here by 1857; however, in 1858, flood waters inundated the town site. Elder Charles Giddings recorded: "So greatly discouraged were the settlers, that by the end of the year only 15 families remained - and they were too poor to leave." In 1860, the Table Rock post office recorded receipts of $26.90.
