Postal Card, 1902, 1¢ black on buff, the "full-face McKinley" Die Proof with "Specimen" Handstamp, unfinished die of complete design but with dots on the portrait forehead highlight and unfinished rays about the eagle of the seal, on 140 x 85 mm dull faint y-o-yellow finely mottled opaque card with printed "DIE PROOF OF McKINLEY POSTAL CARD. ISSUE OF 1901" and with gray-black diagonal hand stamp "Specimen" type E (11 x 2 mm) under portrait; clip crease at top center, otherwise fresh and Very Fine. Scott No. UX17PS var.

This type E "Specimen" handstamp was used from 1890 to 1904 in the Third Assistant Postmaster General's office.
