From Steamer Osceola, bold red oval handstamp on dark buff cover from the Buchanan Carroll correspondence to New Orleans, entered mails with red "New Orleans La. Mar 27" cds, endorsed "B/L" for bill of lading and "Osceola" at bottom left, F.-V.F.

In the early 1850s, the "Osceola" plied the waterways of the Ouachita, Black and Mississippi Rivers between Camden, Ark/ and New Orleans La.
