1893, Columbian, $4 rose carmine, face free target cancel neatly struck at top center, evenly balanced margins all around and design perfectly centered, radiant pastel-like color, a Superb gem, a truly magnificent Columbian high value, this being one of only two examples to receive this grade with none higher; with 2015 P.S.E. certificate Graded (Superb 98, SSV $13,500).

A PHENOMENAL USED EXAMPLE OF THE $4 COLUMBIAN ISSUE - REGARDED AS THE FINEST KNOWN EXAMPLE EXTANT.

A search of both the P.F. Certificate Search and the P.S.E. Population Report reveals only one used $4 Columbian receiving a 95 grade by the P.F. and twelve by the P.S.E. with an additional example receiving a 95J.
