Great Britain, Free Trade and Corn Law Repeal, illustrated border design in gold with "Free Trade" slogan at top and bottom, designed by John Gadsby, on envelope to Yarmouth, franked with 4-margin 1d red tied by 498 in oval handstamp, reverse with red "Manchester, Ju 13, 1844" origin cds and receiving postmark on front, Very Fine, this propaganda design was produced to advocate the repeal of the 1842 Corn Law Act which imposed duties on the importation of corn. Scott No. 3.
