Philippines, Revenue, Provisional, 1899 Manuscript "Stamp" in Box, red initials "GRC", at lower left of United States Custom House permission form dated 9th Jan, 1899, stamp canceled by blue boxed "Canceled" handstamp, this unusual "stampless" procedure was O.K.'d by junior officials with "OK W.E.B." and "D.Y.M." initials, additionally signed by collector of customs G.R. Colton; some light toning and slight soiling, F.-V.F., an extremely rare emergency provisional revenue usage just prior to the issuance of the 1899 Sello issue, ex-Dr. Perry.Estimate $1,500 - 2,000.
